Default Unique or odd instrument pairings in a Band

What are some odd pairings of instruments in groups?

The first one that comes to mind for me is Morphine, 2 String Bass-Drums-Sax.

Another is a local band that I have loved over the years, One Alternative, which is Acoustic Guitar, Drums, and Oboe or English Horn.

What other oddball groupings can you point out?

Brian

Brian.......I don't think there is any such thing as an odd instrument pairing, although Ravi Shankar playing sitar on the Beatles albums was a unique introduction of that instrument to the masses.

Here's an interesting photo. Billy Preston, George Harrison, and Ravi Shankar visiting President Geral Ford at the White House in 1974.

Very cool.

Sunday PBS was airing an old concert of Muddy Waters and The Rolling Stones in a tiny club packed onto a tiny stage.

Your example is exactly the type I was looking for.

That's a great album of that concert.
