Default Doors on SACD new releases

Ok I have a DOORS-S/T-JAPAN SACD HYBRID and am wondering how the new releases compare?

I have read good reviews that the new SACDs are some of the best arrangements made. The quality, the mixing, the overall Sound quality is top notch per reviews i have read.

I am curious if anyone has the Japan SACD released in 2011 title Doors and been able to compare the new releases from last year.

On a side note the reviews mentioned the Beatles re-issue on most songs was no better, in fact worse in some ways then the older mixes released.

Have you checked out the discussion over at the Steve Hoffman Forums? Some of the posters are borderline fanatical about pressings and which ones are the ones to get for sound quality. There is a pretty long discussion over there about the new Doors SACDs and how they compare to the DCC versions and the Perception box.

Are these new releases 2-channel or multi-channel SACD? Years ago, I bought the Doors LA Woman DVD-A. I love the multi-channel recording. The rain storm in "Rider's On The Storm" sound amazing. This track has been one of my demo's for a long time.

I'm totally with you on Riders on the Storm, I've got the DVD-A as well and its fantastic. I've read that the SACDs use the original mixes if I'm not mistaken, but its hard to believe that the overall mastering and sound quality could beat the DVD-As and make it worth spending another $200 to $300 bucks.
