p.s. I'm heading out to the roller rink tonight to skate like crazy. I like skating as much as I do the high end and its much cheaper.

Me and T-Stacks Frank. He's signing some mags for me. He's one of the best skaters in America. He's so humble it's incredible. The things he can do on roller skates are amazing and he calls me friend. Note the sweat. This is in real time. His wheels never get dirty. He skates on old rink wheels. He can make his skates literally do anything. I have never seen anything like it.

I would like to see some reviews about this unit, but let's be realistic, when was the last time anyone read a negative review in a magazine? $12,000 is a lot, to me at least, for a piece of gear but this would be a forever CDP/DAC for me. The seed has been planted in my mind and has started to grow over the last couple weeks.

I"ve got my eyes on one too. I like to wait a year or so and see what people are saying about it. I suspect it'll be a really fantastic Dac and disk spinner. Last one I'll probably buy. IMO Digital has reached its pinnacle. There are some really great Dacs and streamers these days.

Yeah, I agree. Even if I don't get the MCD12000 I'm done with the DAC upgrade game. I don't think I'll ever need anything beyond 24/96 which is even handled just fine by the Mc D100 I have but no longer use. I have a C2300 preamp, but I appreciate the tube section in this unit as an additional way to "tune" digital sources a bit compared to tube rolling the C2300 which would affect all line sources. It seems this is a very well thought out piece of gear.

I completely agree with the last two comments. I can't imagine ever trading a C12000/MCD12000 in for new gear. It's reference level gear meant to last a lifetime. I think it competitive with anything on the market functionally and sonically. It will be very reliable and the looks and build quality for my taste are the absolute best.

Wow!! Congrats. Didn’t see this coming.

I really want to pull the trigger too. Im 100% convinced this will be an outstanding DAC and best looking piece of gear I’ve seen in a long time. Owning D1100/MCT450 for 5+ years now, I have no worries about the sonic qualifications of the MCD12000.

McIntosh digital is better than they get credit for. Personally, I think $12k is a bargain.

I’m very much looking forward to your thoughts Ivan, Lord knows you have a DAC or two at your disposal to compare the MCD12000 with.

By the way, how long of a wait are you anticipating?

Six months wait; at last count, I have 19 DAC’s here in Cape Cod.
