Default Roon Music server and McIntosh dac
I have the full license of Roon 2.0 audiophile player.

I custom ordered 2023 Apple Mac Mini M2 ( 24GB unified memory, 256GB SSD )

From Roon support “ We recommend 8 GB in addition to the base RAM for the machine. “

Now the iPad Pro 11 M2 is the remote. This Mac mini will be used as a music server only, no internet, no email as headless Mac .

Sound quality has improved a lot . Better quality the source, better the sound will be from the amplifier and speakers.

Very happy with the sound.

I "believe" with the latest version of Roon it requires internet access to function properly. You are going to need internet access on that Mac Mini.

Mac Mini is connected with Ethernet

Internet was also required to activate license as well as needed for wifi to use iPad Pro as Roon remote

I’ve got ROON core running in a NUC and several different endpoints and controllers. It all works and sounds great.

I'm doing the same thing you are with the exception that I'm using an older Mac mini. It's stripped down similar to how you have yours . I've been thinking about getting the same Mac Mini you have as mine is now 11 years old and is in need of an upgrade. It still works perfectly though so it's hard to justify a new one.
