Question McIntosh XR50 or XR100?

I am searching options to replace Magnepan 0.7 speakers.

The apartment I am in is much smaller than the house I used to own.

In Wilson Audio section, I also ask about TuneTot’s.

Also considering the McIntosh XR50 or XR100’s….

In the past , I did have the XLS 320 + Velodyne subwoofer.

Not sure how the XR series compare to older XLS models.

I cannot comment on the XLR series but I have had my XR100 speakers for about 2 years and they are superb from my perspective. They are in a smaller room where my audio setup is located which is about 15 by 20 feet.

What is the size of the room? How much space do you have to work with?

Living room is 10ft x 18ft long with kitchen portion adding 7ft width a 10ft length.

Speakers are on short wall.

Interested in feedback as well on XR100's. These are on my short list for my next upgrade, but I plan to dual use them for HT and 2-channel, HT being used the majority. My concern is if the sound stage for HT, coupled with a LCR80 would suffice......

Is this audio system doing double duty, or are we focusing solely on music?

I'll try and post a picture of what I did in this smaller space and the future speakers I am considering for this place.

The room's width is 8.5 feet, and the depth is 6.5 feet to the back of my listening chair, so it is a near-field system.

The Cremona Auditors are wonderful in there, but I am looking forward to adding the Guarneri, Serafinos, or Nova’s III.

If If you go with McIntosh I would go with the XR100.

This particular listening space is new, so I'm still working to develop the area / sound.

Wilson is better for you in my opinion. I love McIntosh for gear but speakers I’m not super impressed in the 2ch arena. Home Theater it has the shock and awe capability coupled with Massive / Insane amounts of power. 2ch I like Wilson for transparent/ precise sound and Sonus Faber for a warmer mellow presentation.
