Default Meitner MA3 Streaming DAC

I never was a fan of the EMM Labs sound in my infrequent demos over the years. I tried AQUA, MSB Discrete, Chord Dave, Nagra, etc, etc and then heard the MA3. Its quite simply mind blowing how fortunate we hifi enthusiasts are that so much great gear is being made today. I don’t quite know how Meitner stuffs so much excellence into a sub-$10k box.

I purchased my first one and dropped it into my main system….and now have purchased a second MA3 for my office system. I also have a Totaldac d1 tube streamer in my second system. Slightly different flavors with different design goals but the MA3 is so quietly under the radar. I guess developing a product and releasing it during the height of the pandemic with little fanfare…

Anyone in the market for a superb dac/streamer in this price range should at least give it a listen.

Congrats. Owning two of them. Awesome!

I wasn’t a fan of EMM’s earlier stuff, but really enjoy their current selections. While I don’t own the MA3, I do own their PRE, DA2V2 DAC, and TX2 SACD. I just finished an eval of the MTRX2 monos. It’s all top notch gear. Like you I also tried MSB but choose EMM. It’s all very well built and produces the best analogue (digital) music I’ve heard. Of course, vinyl remains my personal favorite.
