Congrats Phillipe.

I'm a huge CJ fan but really wonder why they cannot do something at the factory to avoid this very annoying break in saga.

They could, but it would not be cost-effective from a business perspective to do so. Lew Johnson says you have to play real music through them to burn them in, it's not like putting them on a cable cooker. Same applies to anyone using Teflon caps, including ARC and Decware. These are not very large companies....holding inventory on finished stock for months while burning in caps is not good business practice. Good business practice is to minimize inventory...this is a basic principle of Lean mfg. People don't have cars that are run-in, either.

cj does burn some of its higher end gear in. Know they played my ART for 2-3 days in their listening room being sending. I imagine they will do this more with amps than preamps simply because they want to increase reliability eg. ferret out bad tubes, etc.

Stephen,

You are so right. My ARC LS27 has continued to get better with the hours. At 350 hrs it is sounding spectacular. It has been evolving with significant changes at around 100 hrs and over 300 hrs - not that it did not sound nice out of the box!

Philippe
It is always good to see the excitement when a piece of gear or a piece of music makes everything to worthwhile in the hobby we share.

Stephen,

I'm well aware of the fact that CJ is a small company. Thank you for your explanation about "smart" business practices.
