From the wall (dedicated 15 amp circuit) I use
Nordost Odin Qbase distribution strip Nordost Brahama for CT5 and CA200 Qbase is the biggest improvement for the dollar but I bought them one by one all after audition so I guess they were worth the outlay for at least on person. |

Hello All,
I'm a brand new member and saw this thread on power cords so I thought I'd chime in as well. I use a Shunyata Hydra with a Taipan Helix Alpha power cord into the wall. There's a Venom3 on my 16 LS2 and Oppo BDP-95. I don't really hear any difference using them but as someone previously posted, it doesn't seem to hurt either. I was using a Venom3 on my Premier 140 but since that amp's out of commission, I've been using my Premier 11A with its stock captive cord and just the other day tried plugging it into the Hydra. Although I may be missing just a bit of the leading edge on some transients (and really not much of that), the soundstage has become much larger and the music just seems to hang there in the room. I have a PV-10A (modified years ago by Bill Thalmann) as my phonostage with its stock captive power cord. My turntable is a Clear Audio Concept and it to comes with a wall wart power supply that's also plugged into the Hydra together with the PV-10A. I've got a Modwright/Music Hall CD25 also plugged into the Hydra using its stock cord and that's pretty much it on the audio side. Joe |
