Adapticlock analyzes the incoming signal quality and automatically routes it to the best clock regeneration system—either VCXO or VCO-based. And, it does all of this without altering the bit depth or sample rate of your original music."
When Mike's Gungnir DAC is returned to him it will have been upgraded to the Gen 5 USB input and the miltibit DAC instead of his present delta sigma DAC chip. Once those upgrades are completed his Gungnir becomes a Gumby DAC. It's a whole different ballgame.

FWIW, I am still using my Gumby by with a Sonore microRendu that reclocks and regenerates the USB signal. I agree with Dan that it may be in this application with the Gen 5 of Gumby that this be completely superfluous, but what the Sonore microRendu does let me do is 1) move the Mac Mini computer completely out of the audio rack to the far end of the house, thereby removing a major source of high-bandwidth noise and 2) serves as a Roon endpoint, allowing me to stream bit-perfect lossless content to Gumby via Roon.
