Dragonflies
Mostly taken in my backyard. Right after they first take flight, they need to air their wings out in the sun and become kinda docile. Ya sneak the macro lens/camera on a tripod closer step by step, inch by inch. They'll take off, do a loop or two and land right back where they started. I've gotten so close they were inside the focal length of the lens and I had to back off.

The one being chased off its perch is a juvenile; their eyes are red when born and transition to yellow after time (the one on the yardarm is an adult, with yellow eyes). When brooding season is over the parent osprey induce their fledglings to leave the nest by pulling out all the down, moss and other soft material, leaving a prickly web of sticks and branches. The fledglings will eventually take their first flight and perch somewhere close to rest and decide if they wanna fly again. The parents will harass them until they fly off, never to return. I don't have any children, but I think this is how I'd handle parenting.
