Dan, I think the transport is actually called 260 with the "260D" moniker being the transport with the added DAC module. Pretty sure I read that somewhere recently and just thought I'd mention it for clarification.

Serge.......That is incorrect. MOON actually designates the transport only model as the Neo 260D-T model as shown on my shipping invoice from them.

Like Bryston.

You are probably right, though it is nice to have equipment that is not too well known!

I'm going to kick the performance level of the digital playback source components in the living room system up a notch or two. Today I ordered four sets of four Stillpoints Ultra Mini's, one set each for the Simaudio MOON Neo 260D transport, the Yggdrasil DAC, the Aurender N100H music server, and the McIntosh C2300 preamplifier. Should be interesting to hear what the Ultra Mini's will do for the digital sources and the preamplifier.

Dan - will you do each one separately to see which piece benefits the most?

Now I feel left out. I have cd transport (cec tl5), turntable (vpi scout), dac/streaming device (ps audio directstream w bridgeII), tape deck (nakamichi dragon)... but no fm tuner.

Of course I live in the mountains and get 3 radio stations, 2 of them are religious... so I’m probably not missing much.

Glenn.......My plan is to begin by supporting the McIntosh C2300 preamplifier on the Ultra Mini's, then the Yggdrasil DAC, then the two digital source components. I am confident from my previous experience with the Stillpoints in the studio system that positive results will be heard. I should have the Ultra Mini's next week hopefully. I will report the results once installed.

skernes.......No need to feel like an outsider. Everyone's system is purpose built for the results an owner is looking to achieve. For me, a sound system doesn't seem complete without a tuner, so I have always had a tuner in every sound system I assembled. You might be surprised how many stations are available with a sensitive tuner and a high quality outdoor antenna, even in the mountains.

Thanks. I have really only tested with the tuner in the car... which I gave up on and went with xm... one of the few downsides to being over 6000 feet above our neighboring town.
