After living with SabrinaX for one year, I noticed that the vocal height presentation is somewhat lower than it should. After adding room treatment, this was improved somewhat. Vocal on Sasha DAW has more believable vocal height.

Overall, I am picking up more details in variety of songs, soundstage is wider.

Hi Everyone!

First, I just wanted to say I've been following along with this thread and it has been very helpful, so thank you.

Second, I'm in a similar position to the OP. I bought my SabrinaX's just over a year ago and I use a Luxman L-509X to drive them. With the introduction of the Sasha V I am considering trading my Sabrina's for Sasha DAW's.

My question is, do you think my room is too small for the DAW?

I'm just 93 inches from the tweeters (less than 8 feet).
They are only 19 inches from the back wall which have Vicoustic treatments (which are 5 inches thick, making the back wall actually 24 inches from the back of the Sabrina's).
And the tweeters are just 78 inches apart (just 6.5 feet).

The room itself is much bigger, however. The ceilings are 12 feet and to the left it opens to the from of the house, maybe another 50 feet or so and behind the couch is the kitchen with adds about 20 feet or so.

Thank you for any and all input!

P.S. Thank you to the admin team for letting me join this community!

My suggestion is to put some carpet/rugs/padding in between your speakers and sofas.
Put as many as you can. I try putting down any old bed comforters on the floor as a trial to see how it modifies the sound.

Hi BFP:
I had Sashas that had the exact distances between your tweeters with my ears 9' away. I now have Alexias 2s in close to the same spot. My room is 20 x 16 with 9' ceilings and an opening to a hallway at the back of the room. I knew the Alexias would work in my room because one dealer I visited displayed them in a similar configuration. I don't think being 1 foot closer to the speakers from your sitting position will make a difference. Indeed, counterintuitively, both of my sets of speakers are closer to the rear wall than yours and sound better there. So fear not. You will not regret the move. The DAWs are in a different stratosphere than the SabrinaX sound wise. No contest in any respect.

Oh, wow!! Thank you for the very helpful reply! I really appreciate your experience and insight. Did you notice a change in sound stage/imagine with the speakers closer to the wall? Also, is the bass still controlled?

You are 100% correct in your assessment! But, well...

There is kind of a long story here (well, not really...) This is our family room so it isn't just me making the design choices. If I were left to my my own devices, there would be acoustic paneling all over and, indeed, carpeting. But the WAF and all that prohibits it.

With that said, my travels for work regularly and the nights she is gone are the nights I really spend listening to music. On those nights the couch gets moved back a bit and over to a side so that my seat is in the middle of the speakers and several blankets are laid on the floor as a carpet substitute.
