Part of my home collection of eagles...couple more on the way as well.

Was high tide when we got there just after lunch, so only one eagle near enough to bother with. The others were all soaring well above dam height and across & down river. As you stated, plenty of folks taking pic's.
The brisket & fries at the Old South Smokehouse were excellent.

Wish I’d been there with ya; I’ve been there with little to no activity, and also more eagles in the air than ya could ever photograph...

This is one of the few places I bother to bring out the big gun...the 400mm lens is a beast to carry, so it’s a destination lens. Ya tote it to the best spot, put it in a tripod and don’t move it again until you are done.

That shot was with my Lumix ZS60. Had the Leica lens & electronic zoom cranked out to about 35x and thankfully, has auto-stabilization or it would have been quite fuzzy between being hand-held and so much magnification.
