Miles Davis Quintet - Miles Smiles

From '66, this was one of these fantastic records of Miles' second great quintet.
For me this group was even better than the first great quintet of the fifties.

Heard it on cassette tape, didn't like it much, more steeped in M.D now so should enjoy the cd version.

Yamamoto Tsuyoshi Trio - Misty

You guys got such a buzz out of listening to this trio, that I wanted to find out about it.
Well, I have to say this SACD is really something.
The recording quality is so outstanding that it's a real joy to play it.
It must be one of the best examples of how a good system can come close to being in the studio.
Furthermore, although not equalling the best piano trio jazz, the musicians deliver a very fine performance. Nice classics, well played and some good own compositions.
Recommended!

Tord Gustavsen Trio - Changing Places

From 2003.
An example of "best piano trio jazz"!
And although not as well recorded as the album above, the sound engineers did a fine job.

Roscoe Mitchell - More Cutouts on Cecma, a 1981 recording with Roscoe on tenor, alto, soprano and flute, Hugh Ragin on trumpet and flugelhorn, and Tania Tabal on drums, vibes and percussion.

Art Ensemble of Chicago - Tribute to Lester, a 2001 ECM cd, while issued as the Art Ensemble, Lester Bowie and Joseph Jarman are not included, so it sounds more like the Roscoe Mitchell trio with strong contributions from Malachi Favors Maghostut on bass and Famoudou Don Moye on drums

Roscoe Mitchell and the Sound Ensemble - Snurdy McGurdy and her Dancin' Shoes, a nessa LP from 1980, with Roscoe joined by Hugh Ragin on trumpet and flugelhorn, A. Spencer Barefield on guitar, Jaribu Shahid on bass, cello and percussion, and Tania Tabal on drums
