I tried another remastered album from that series.

Dvorák - Symphony No. 9, Op. 95 "From the New World"
The Philadelphia Orchestra, Eugene Ormandy
Qobuz 24/96

The performance is certainly good, but the sound is so thin, that I can't enjoy this favourite symphony like I normally do with more modern recordings. This piece needs slam!

That's a shame on the Dvorak Bart,...that should have been a great performance recorded well like the others in those years.

Thanks as well for the pointer to the EPB and PHL recording, I will check it out.

Here is probably the best EPB performance and recording ever, harnessing the capabilities, nuances and sheer force & grandeur of 4 organs at once from a central console. First time I heard this was MANY years ago on a QUAD Vinyl LP playback setup.

This SACD is remastered from the original Quad masters...R-6438559-1464960146-3791.jpeg.jpeg

Unfortunately, that SACD is worth its weight in gold...

I think I found the performance on Qobuz.

Ieva Jokubaviciute - Northscapes
Qobuz 24/192

A Stereophile recommendation.
First listen.
I'll need more sessions to evaluate.

This is as good as the raving review from Jason Victor Serinus tells us:

ENIGMA
Spectral Quartet

performs
Anna Thorvaldsdottir
Qobuz 24/192

From the same label as the album above.

Third Stereophile author Jason VS recommendation:

Trio Medićval - Solacium
Qobuz 24/44.1

Another very very fine album.
Sit back, relax and be moved by the sheer beauty of the voices and instruments...

Trio Medićval's collection of hymns and lullabies — intimate songs as old as time and as new as tomorrow: this is music with no boundaries, celebrating our common humanity. We'll never know the first song or the first singer, and we'll never know what they sang about. But if time could unwind and we could hear it, perhaps we would witness a mother or a father singing the first lullaby. When we sing a hymn or a lullaby we become a link in a chain that began in the unknowable past and will stretch into the infinite future: a timeless continuum of solace and comfort.

The new lullabies by Anders Jormin and Sinikka Langeland began in their heads as little musical gifts for real children, and are here sung for all of us by three singers who have sung many a lullaby to their own children, aided and abetted on this album by Trygve Seim, and Mats Eilertsen, fathers both.

Hailed as a "fascinating journey with music of timeless beauty", Trio Medićval’s highly acclaimed first album Words of the Angel in 2001 launched the group into the elite circles of early music ensembles and introduced them to a broad international audience. Formed in 1997, the Grammy nominated vocal ensemble consists of founder members Linn Andrea Fuglseth and Anna Maria Friman, and Jorunn Lovise Husan who joined the group in 2018. Trio Medićval has recorded eight albums for ECM Records. Solacium is their first release with the Norwegian label 2L.

Great album...not talked about often and not enough by far! The SACD of that is well worth the search!
