Are you talking about the digital input of the player or the analogue input of an Esoteric pre-amp?

According to the K-01 manual, the input button is for the pre-amp

INPUT This button will not work with the K-01/K-03. However, it can beused for switch the input source selection of compatible Esoteric amplifiers

However it worked as a digital input selector on the lower models. From the K-05 manual

INPUT buttons . When the disc is stopped, use these buttons to select discplayback or an external input source. When set to an external input (COAX/OPT/USB), the unit can beused as a D/A converter (see p. 24).These buttons can be used to control this unit only when the attenuator setting is ON (see p. 26).You can also use these to change the input of an Esotericamplifier.

Does anyone know how this works on the K-05X and K-07X? The manuals don't seem to be online.
