Way Cool Stephen!

Great experiment and documentation.

I am a solid believer of solid maple and these isolation pads!

John,
I've been playing around more with the VibSensor app, and noted that the Power spectrum is very informative. It returns a summary table of data, and also a plot.

Summary table:
Peak raw: X (0.78) Y (0.55) Z (15.45)
ISD: X (0.05) Y (0.055) Z (0.32)
Resonances:
X:
Y: 22 Hz (0.00037), 45 Hz (0.00025)
Z: 44 Hz (0.0065)

Shown here is the Power curve* from VibSensor of my Schiit Gumby DAC sitting on 1) in blue the stock Gumby feet and 2) in red on Herbie's Audio Lab Tenderfeet. You can the stock feet impart more total power into the DAC.

*-The force is imparted by a home-made "slide hammer" I made with a bolt that is only partly threaded, a lock nut that serves as a stop, and a 1/2" drive socket. I drop the socket onto the rack from a set distance from the lock nut to control variance in the force imparted. It drops 8 centimeters from the locknut on the bolt onto the head of the bolt which is resting on the audio rack shelf.

That is what I use also under my components. Didn't do before/after comparisons; I just installed them but was too lazy to remove everything right after. I think I will give it a try now that I am used to the sound with them under. They do not look as bad as I initially believed they would.

Edit:
I noticed that after having inserted them in my sound system last summer that the AC guys who installed my AC unit 3 years ago did install the same ones!

A possible replacement for those I am considering are the IsoAcoustics Orea.

Yep, Serge, those are the same ones, the Diversitech ones. You might try putting them directly under the component rather than resting them on the components' own feet. This should provide better mechannical grounding. Try it both ways and see if you hear a preference.

Yes, read great things about the IsoAcoustics Oreas. Like to try those, but I am going to try the EVP ones first.

Stephen-

interesting point about putting the pads under the component and not the feet. Now you got the gears turning in the old noggin. The ridged rubber pad on top and bottom makes them very solidly stackable. One can also use a 3 x 3 on the bottom with a 2 x 2 on top for full support.

Yeah, personally, I'm not a fan of placing vibration isolation devices under the components own feet; the mechanical coupling (aka "grounding) can't be ideal; therefore the pad's ability to keep energy from transferring into the component would be less that optimal or maximal, I would think.

Just as a side-note; I went to my SFAS meeting on Saturday (SF Audiophile Society) and we had Andrew Jones as our guest speaker. He was demonstrating the new ELAC Navis active speakers (which were REALLY impressive) and he was using the new ELAC Alchemy preamp/DAC/streamer. He was using four pair of the Diversitech AVPs with each pair stacked on top of each other, with the ribs oriented at 90° to each stacked pair. And they were placed directly under the component, not under its attached feet. And, as one of the best loudspeaker designers in the world, I would think Andrew would know a thing or so about managing vibration.

+1 on that Stephen!

Just some more data....this is a plot in JMP14 showing the integration of the curve of the Power, RMS in the Z-dimension transmitted into my Schiit Gumby DAC. In red, the stock Gumby feet, and in blue, the cork & rubber anti-vibration pads. Both footers are resting on my Sanus Euro II audio rack top shelf (no maple board).
