I currently have a Thorens TD160, custom walnut plinth, heavy base cover, damped inner platter, Nagaoka MP110 cartridge. I am going to sell it, as I find myself streaming music, either from my Mac or the internet more than listening to vinyl.

Default Let's see your turntable.

At that price you can always get your money back (or more).
Where are you and the TT located? Might be able to recommend someone to look at it for you.

I agree with Glenn, it’s worth it but the cartridge should be checked out. It also looks like you’ll be doing some refurbishing, but the fact that the original packaging and accessories are there, including the duster, VTF balance, and alignment card, is encouraging. Also it looks like a walnut veneer base, much nicer than the later vinyl-wrapped. You can probably expect to do some work on it, but it’s worth it.

A motor replacement is often a good idea (easily done), and you can purchase some parts like springs from vinylnirvana.com and of course eBay. Also I have a partial table left over from a restoration I did a few years ago that might provide you some useful parts if you find you’re looking for anything.

Have fun.

Very nice.
Don't be too hasty on that sale. You may find you miss vinyl before long.

OP, that AR table looks to be in rough shape to my eyes. Probably needs a complete refurbish. That old Shure cart, while nice back in the day isn't going to compete well with modern carts. I echo the others sentiments. How can you verify the stylus is in good operable condition or whether the cantilever is perfectly straight? It's well over 40 years since those carts were made. That's a long, long time ago.

That vintage Thorens OTOH looks like a winner.

Anyway, JMHO. YMMV.

New, high quality replacement stylus for the Shure V15 cartridges are readily available, so that isn't a worry. Many fans of the AR TT still around, so I would not worry too much about being able to make it into a worthy piece if you are interested in it.

Technics SL1200G. One of the last SL1200G's to be made in Japan. While the SL1200MK2 was a great turntable, the "G" model really is a step above it as well as the rest of the SL1200's. I really love this turntable.

The 'table pictured above (G) is priced at $3,999.99. Technics also offers models in the ~ $1,600 range, and as mentioned above the uber Technics 'table can run you upwards of $30,000 with tonearm. Factor in a few G's for a top flight cart.

By way of comparison, my SL1210 MK5 set me back $400 about 14 years ago.
