Wondering what all the hoopla is about. Good, clean pressing, but music seems a bit hyped and over-produced on a 1st listen. Side B is definitely better music than Side A. In fact, Side B is quite good. More "Stones-like".
Will have to give the liner notes a read, along with another listen before passing judgement on the content/engineering.

Original MoFi pressing of DSOTM is about as good as it gets. Will be listening to the lastest release shortly to compare. It will have to be superlative to best the original.

Just finished with the new version and............ yep. Just a bit better to my ears. Blacker background and a bit better in upper-mids-highs. Mind you, I would not kick either out of bed. Best of the old (probably played 100+ times on my Sony PS-X7 and various Shure V15's) & the new. Deserves its status as one of the very best albums of all time.

Another Jethro Tull. "Aqualung". 2011 remaster on 180gm vinyl. Very good. One of my favorite albums. Locomotive Breath is one of the best cuts ever. Saw the Thick as a Brick tour in the Scope Arena in Norfolk in 1972. As good as any rock concert I've been to.
