Thanks Howie.
The helicopter flight of Cape Town has been a unique moment and the view from Table Mountain was also stunning.
What an incredible place.
Leaving for Kruger Park today.

cape town is amazing! I have spent a total of 4 months there in the last 3 years! I love the city, everything you could want to do and more. yes there are rough areas but they are easily avoided. you will be fine, enjoy and safe travels!

While I visited Jo'burg and not Cape Town when I visited there 5 years ago, I also enjoyed my visit (aside from the fact I couldn't find a jazz club while I was there!). The people are very friendly and hospitable. I will try to visit again in the near future. Maybe if (when) they get the Olympics. Definitely going to Cape Town next time, as I have friends who have been there and they highly recommend it.

I live in Durban in South Africa and while its true that there are rough places out here - most tourists will most likely not get to see them hence its about as rough as i would find visiting any other country in the world whilst being a stranger to the place

its not as bad as its reputation suggests but you will do well to heed the warnings depending on where you visit though - there are places close to Durban and Johannesburg that will manage to do their utmost to live up to the bad reputation

most of Cape Town is geared for tourism though - and its probably as good as any other spot in the world to visit
