It is very interesting.
He plays so many instruments!

In these times of channel-surfing and acceleration, the work of a musician like Stephan Micus should be cherished and held onto. For years, the German has been collecting instruments from all over the world, learning to play them, and finally composing his own pieces for them. On Inland Sea, nine different instruments are used, including the nyckelharpa, the traditional Swedish violin fit with keys, which is privileged here in a way that Micus's fans will not have been prepared for. This 22nd album for ECM refers to a specific geographical area, but also to "something which we all have inside us", as he explains. Neither quite jazz, nor quite folk, this superb record invites to embark on a journey in the literal and figurative senses… © MD/Qobuz

Thank you for the suggestion Pierre!

Fantastic remaster!

I totally agree with the HRAudio.net review:

My copy is no. 622.
Very good remaster.
This album was the end of the second great quintet.
Chick Corea and Dave Holland replaced Hancock and Carter on 2 tracks already.
I still dig this disc.
Bitches Brew, which came a bit later is not my cup of tea anymore.

Also from my MoFi stash.
You can ban me to that remote desert island, but do provide a stereo there please, because these absolutely go with me!

Bass and guitar, perfectly interwoven improvisations.
Live album.
What a great label ECM is...

Listening again to this well recorded, brilliant album.

We unfortunately missed this duo when they performed in our town in November (other obligations ).

Jakob Bro
Thomas Morgan
Joey Baron
- Streams
Qobuz 24/88.2

Joey Baron is a fantastic drummer.
Very versatile, always attentive.
Morgan is a truly great bass player.
Good ideas, doesn't come in the way of the music, nor needs to be in the picture the whole time.
Bro produces quiet, intimate melodies, and beautiful landscapes.

We saw these three in November, in a church.
Wonderful!

Jakob Bro
Thomas Morgan
Jon Christensen
- Gefion
Qobuz 24/96

We liked the albums above so much that we decided to stay with Bro, and play a little older album.

We also looked at his concert calendar and booked tickets for his concert in 3 more weeks 20 kms from our town.

I think I'll have a slab of Filles de Kilimanjaro on me day off tomorrow; R5 do your stuff, no Walkman's for you.
