Thanks James. I hate waiting, but I hate not getting the best sound possible even more.

I am bit confused as to the purpose of announcing the BDA-3 in early November 2014 and not having it ready for purchase within a a few months of the announcement? There was lots and lots of buzz/discussion following the big reveal but now, nearly 8 months later, not much to show for it. Should we be at all concerned about this long delay? Emotiva is well known for announcing upcoming components and taking forever and a day to finally bring them to the marketplace. Their XMC-1 is a perfect example of this. Good news for me is that I am not necessarily in a rush to buy a DAC. As I have mentioned previously, I am exploring my DAC options and am currently looking closely at the Schiit Yggdrasil which is gaining popularity. It does not have DSD capability but I am more of CD listener vs PC audio anyways. I do not mean to be too critical. I am approaching this situation more from a PR / marketing perspective than anything else.

Yes it has been frustrating for me as well but implementing DSD as an independent circuit path from PCM has been more of a challenge than I originally assumed.

Of all the goofy things... what really excited me about the BDA-3 is the ability to control it via ethernet. That'd mean I could move to a remote control system that didn't use IR/RF at all!

A bit of a theoretical question but it has roots in current products. Has anyone been able to compare the Bryston BDA-2 to the Moon Evolution 750D? If so what were your impressions? I know the 750D is basically 6x the price of the BDA-2 but was curious of the real world differences, price aside.

The reason why I ask is that we will soon see the BDA-3 and Moon is introducing the 780D (5x the price of the BDA-3) which will be a digital player and DAC in one rather than a CD player and DAC like the 750D thus I was thinking how the 780D might compare to a BDP-2/BDA-3 combo.

Rod... Since this is a BDA-3 thread; and the unit isn't even shipping yet, I don't think it is appropriate to be trying to compare it to other DAC's.

Once it is out, sure in another thread.

For curiosity sake so the thread doesn't get derailed I'm going to pose the BDA-2 vs 750D question over in the non manufacturer specific CD Players, Digital Music & Servers sub forum.

With the BDA-3 going to have HDMI have you ever thought about adding a HDMI out to the BDP's?
