Default Shunyata Triton/Python audition

Heard this at my local dealer, did A/B/A/B/A. With and without. Using the Triton power conditioner and Python Zitron power cord.

Didn't realize deeper bass extension could be done with adding these. Was trying this in an Ayre R series setup, with the Ayre C-5 front end. The speakers were Wilson Sophia 3.

Does anyone feel just the Triton would bring anything to the mix? Thinking about this but the power cord adds a bit to the price. I know they have less expensive PC's too.

I would favor using both the Shunyata PC and cord together if your budget allows. Of course you could get the PC and add the cord later. I myself went with a Hydra 8 and Python cord and was so impressed with the results I'm thinking about replacing my Kimber cord's with Shunyata units. Before the Hydra 8 I was running a PS Audio AV-3000 and preferred that as apposed to going right into the wall outlet. With the 8 it's a whole new game, one I'll be playing for years to come

Some years ago I bought an Hydra 8 and was astonished that the quality of the bass seemed to improve. There was another jump when I replaced the old Anaconda Alpha with an Anaconda Helix and slowly I replaced all my power chords with the then discontinued (and discounted...) Andromeda Helix's. I am very happy wit the results, all I need now is just to keep far away from the Ztron new products

The Python cord plugged into a 15A wall outlet....guess you mean the end that plugs into the Triton is 20A IEC?

My amp is in one room and my other equipment is in the adjacent room....would you all recommend starting with the Triton on the sources/preamp first? I suppose I would use the two-outlet version for the power amplifier.

Loved the audition. Although I only have a stereo amp - no mono blocks yet - I am really thinking about getting the Triton and Python now. Maybe I should get the Cobra cord....is it that much better than the Python?

The cords are better as you go up the line, whether they are worth the difference in prices, only you can decide. I am sure the new Zitron VTX cords are a notable improvement over the CX line because Shunyata does not seem to go backwards in improving their products...only forward. While the Venom3 cost less than the older model Diamondback Platinum, I personally think it is a superior cord. Well, I preferred, it anyway. I thought it was warmer and more textured, less neutral. Word on the street is that the DB Plat will be back new and improved, and my guess is it will incorporate a "virtual tube" design like that seen on the new Sidewinder VTX, Hydra power cord, and the new Zitron cords.

For the end you plug in the wall, can you go 15A or 20A? My house has only 15A outlets.
My dealer had a Python cord, 15A plug into his wall. Wonder if I should invest in upgrading outlets to 20A, then get the 20A power cord.

No, you don't need to. You can use the standard 15 amp wall plug just fine.
