I'm a big believer in Synergy from using all the "Same Brand Loom" regardless of brand.

I guess it is obvious that I second that.

I'm in agreement to a degree, but only for a cable class, e.g. interconnects, power cords, digital cables, speaker cables (with respect to multi-wiring or multi-amping) etc. But I have not experienced any reasons why one should use virtually all cables classes from a single manufacturer. And while "everyone" (mag editors, talking heads, pundits) say one shouldn't use cables as "tone controls", they are in fact useful in this regard because you can control small changes of character or color with a different cable here or there and this is way cheaper than doing that with components. For example, the Shunyata Venom3 is warmer, richer, more textured and layered than the DiamondBack Platinum which is crisp, clean and neutral in charactor, so I used a Venom3 on my Bifrost when it was still in it's cooler/neutral phase. Once it really warmed up, I used the DB Platinum with it.

chessman and Puma Cat... Thanks for your perspectives. They were very helpful and I really appreciate both of you taking the time to reply to my question.

Here are a couple of my thoughts...
With a Mac & SF system, I thought a little silver would help speed things up. Not that Shunyata Is slow, just thinking copper vs copper/silver.

I'm thinking the WW's will be a little more flexible. I'm going to have to make some turns.

The Corba's do look like giant snakes on the ground. I don't think my girlfriend will appreciate that, every time she sees them on the floor.

Then there is the price. If I got the Cobra's, then eventually, I would have to get all Cobra's. I just cant afford that anytime in the near future.

I already have a few WW Silver's in my system.

I also work from the cable type approach. If I'm curious about a brand I take several top to mid end cables from that company and see what they do and have in common. Then I benchmark against my current reference. If a new worthwhile reference is found at a comfortable price then the most important cables are slowly getting sold and replaced.

Now my current PC's are Furutech and I might want to try a Cobra some time to see what they can do. Would not go higher up than a zitron python though for Hydra Triton to wall...

I had Wireworld also. I made the switch to Shunyata. Night and day difference. Money well spent.

Dhizzle,
Understand your points. Sounds like the WW might better suit your needs, though from photos I've seen of the Cobra Zitron SC's, they look very flexibe.

I like the suggestion of maybe ordering both from the Cable Co. and trying them out, but you may not want to deal with the hassle of that.

Good luck with whatever choice you make.

Dhizzle - I have WireWorld for SE6 speaker cables and interconnects based on feedback here mostly from Masterlu and Chessman and I love these cables.

Your thoughts on how the WW is a practical choice is spot on from my experience.

I did things in stages and when it came time to look at power Australia isn't blessed with an Ivan and I would have had to butcher a beautiful cable and refit a local termination for WW so had to look elsewhere.

Puma Cat's posts put Shunyata on the radar for me and I'm really grateful because they have been a revelation. Single loom approaches probably are the best but as cables are so system dependent and happily the mix of the two - Shunyata for power and WW for signal is working really well for me presently.

The signatures for these two brands particularly in these specific product areas have more similarities than differences IMO... rich, musical and detailed. Perhaps the silver in the WWs highlights the leading edge a touch more but the new Zitrons are remarkably detailed throughout the frequency.

Both are authoritive at the lower frequencies (certainly at the reference end of the spectrum) and both can shimmer with the highs. Most importantly they both sound natural and allow you to dissolve into the music.

I will be listening to some Anaconda speaker cables and Anaconda and Cobra interconnects to see if the benefits of single loom work out better in my system... either way the WW cables are here to stay as part of another system. I will be trialling the other Zitrons in 5 or 6 weeks so don't know when you are planning to upgrade - truth is what works best here might not be the deal in the context of your gear anyway. The best thing to do is try and get a demo and listen if you can. Both are definitely worth an audition.
Good luck with it.

Graham
