Default Magico V3

Good day to all,

I have maybe a strange question, is it worth to buy a pair of Magico V3 speakers, or is it better to safe some more money for the S3 MK1?

thanks in advance for the advice.

with kind regards

V3 is an old model. One of the first speakers of Magico. You can only buy them secondhand.
Prices between 6.000 USD and 10.000 USD. Magico S3 MkI is a little more expensive. I would prefer the V3 because of the wood panels. Both are great speakers, but you have to invest a lot of money to let them "sing".

I have had the V3's for ten years and enjoyed them a lot, I would not have changed them for the S3 mkI, the S3 mkII would be my choice in that case.

V3's are not coming down in price much anymore, they are between 7500,- and 10000,- euro here in europe.

(my old V3's are now for sale on a website in the North of the Netherlands)

I had the opportunity to buy a pair of second hand YG Hailey's 1.2 and trade in my V3's. Nothing wrong with the state or performance of the V3's, but after ten years it is nice to try something different.

Have fun listening to the V3's on Saturday.
