Default IWC Petite Prince

IWC new Mark XVIII “Le Petit Prince” edition.

The “Le Petit Prince” edition, notably, is one of the special variants of the new Mark XVIII edition features a special blue dial, as well as a different case back from the regular the Mark XVIII.

The watch is powered by IWC Caliber 30110, an automatic movement that is based on Sellita’s ETA 2892. It features a date indicator, as well as decent power reserve of approximately 42 hours. On top of that, the watch is fitted with a soft-iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields. While it is not an exceptional movement, it is robust and reliable to do a good job at timekeeping.

The IWC Mark XVIII “Le Petit Prince” is priced at SGD$6,250. The watch is fitted with a brown calfskin strap, made specially by Santoni. Amongst the few Mark XVIII variants, think that this is the nicest.

Enjoy!

Very nice. And, that's funny............. to me. My wife teaches French Lit at RowanU and is one of the stories she uses in her class and has been doing so forever. I get to hear about how wonderful it is every semester. Am thinking it might be just the thing for her birthday, if they have a ladies model. In strolling the Calle de Serrano in Madrid last month we noticed that IWC was well represented in the jewelry/watch shops. Considerably less so on this side of the Atlantic.

Found this about the Le Petit Prince series. http://www.iwc.com/en/news/iwc-celeb...s-finest-hour/

I like the Mark XVII's simplicty. Elegant timepiece without the extra drama. The Petit Prince's midnight blue dial makes this watch that much more interesting. Are you getting one Jerry?

Serge,
I am thinking and thats all I can do. Although the melting market is seeing a little rebound, it's been far from the days when I went in. My entire portfolio is like at 50% its value.
Adding to the woes, I have a new apartment to refurbish and that calls for cash too. Borrowing a phrase from my mum, and I quote: "much as I wanted to print cash, the weather's rainy"! And so it goes.
Everything these days are just thoughts, nothing more. Unless its absolutely necessary, its just look, gaze, see, wonder, salivate, and then, just that - or forget it.
I guess I must be one of the unlucky ones to be hit by this bad market ... at least I can bear this as I had been hit before, in the years 2000 .. for at least a year before seeing a rebound.
In summary, I can only do the talk and never could do the walk! Limping more likely!
Cheers!

Jerry, I am well aware of the market situation. Hopefully it will recover soon my friend and if you haven't panic sold everything and locked in the losses, it should bounce back given time. There is a lesson learned in everything we do my friend, don't ever put all your eggs in one basket and keep your money close and safe, don't chase lofty dreams which often only hurt you and your family in the end. I've been there myself in 2001 AND 2008/9 with our stock market, I am more careful these days, only making "plays" I can afford. There will be plenty more bright days ahead and plenty more time pieces to acquire and collect. Think positive my friend!

Wise words my friend. I've earns my lessons too. There's always a fair amount of greed and I can't say I am spared such fundamental fault, if not, where's the "spirit" on investing (more like gambling). Indeed the market will rebound and its just a matter of time to wade thru.

Family and daily living must never be spun into the market, and thats one lesson I learn not to. As in life, worldly desires are always present and collecting (music gears, watches, etc, ...) are things one will always desire. But I suppose having a bevy of close friends do surpasses such temporal matters and I am glad to say I have met some in this forum, you being one of them.

I long for the days where we could meet, have a cup of tea and chat on the many things we all have in common, like music ... I look to the day. Its so nice to see you back into being active in this forum.

Cheers!

Likewise Jerry! Would be great to meet in person after all these years! As to the matters that weighs us down in life temporarily, family and friends are all your really need to get your spirits back up. Cherish them like nothing else because no earthly possessions could ever replace them.

Very nice Jerome! I've always liked IWC, had the pleasure of owning a few timepieces myself and have always enjoyed them!
