Default Mondo Traps installed

I installed a pair of Mondo corner traps from RealTraps today. I waited way too long to do this. My wife hasn't seen them yet I'd like to put another pair up front but I just don't have the room.

The control on the bass is stunning. I'm getting more note definition and some ringing I had in the room is almost all gone. I'm going to have to play with the subs because they seem to be a tad overpowering right now.

I'd like to try and balance this out a bit with perhaps some tube traps up front, perhaps I could fit a 16" or 20" in each corner but I'll have to see.

Don't we have a dealer in tube traps around here someplace?

Gordon

You knew this was coming. Hurry before your wife sees them.

Gordon,

The stuff does work.

While there are some arguments over where, and what, to place, between the guys that make the stuff, and guys that bow at the alter of Floyd Toole, I think if you cover the corners, maybe the first reflection points, which really improved one of my rooms, and didn't in another, and the middle of the back wall, things will sound better.

You can read all about the real science behind absorbtion and diffusion until your eyes start to bleed, then you can worry about how to measure correctly, or you can add a few things to your room, in a few different places and see if you like it. The stuff isn't cheap, but it's far less than we spend on other things, and the improvements can be pretty dramatic.

There is good information in Toole's book "Sound Reproduction", and i'm getting another book in this week to read by Cox/D'Antonio "Acoustic Absorbers and Diffusers"

Good luck with things.

I told her I ordered a pair but I'm sure she thought they'd be much smaller than they are. This makes 8 traps in the living room and I'd like 4 more

Jim one of these days I'll figure out how to post a picture. But they really are here, I promise, and they do work with very little burn in!
