Default KEF Blade 2

I got to listen to these beauties for more than 3 hours yesterday with my Ayre, AX-5 Twenty amp as well as the Luxman 900 separates.

It was quite a treat.

Does anyone have owership experience with these speakers? What did you own prior to the KEFs? Do you still own them? Likes, dislikes?

Thanks in advance.

I like vintage KEF speakers and would like to know more about Bades as well.

BTW, I am wondering why there is no forum for KEF at AA?

Well, they can certainly withstand the fury of an MC452 being driven into safeguard protection and keep a coin from falling over that is sitting on top of them. https://youtu.be/38P8SYLNleQ

Yep. That's how I judge all the speakers I might be interested in.

Default Here they are

After hauling these up the stairs (and taking a break), I unboxed the Blade 2s. Excellent packaging etc. Fit and finish is excellent and I will not miss the gloss black of my other speakers!

I didn't install the spikes since it will take a while to dial these in. Besides, I had to call Ivan on the way home with an order for Stillpoints!

I am so glad they came in a day early. It should be a really great weekend!

The photo looks like I have these "toed out" - it's just an illusion.

Default KEF Blade 2

I have the KEF Reference 5s. I looked at the blade but couldn’t stand the look of them. The 5’s are rock solid in their presentation and sound staging. Micro details in the high frequencies are incredible. What they do lack is a real bottom end. I cross mine over at 50hz and let my subs do the rest.

They can get astonishingly loud and I’ve never seen a cone move.
