Default Great movies because...

Outlaw Josey Wales, Best Western, directed by Clint, (No awards.)
True Romance, Best movie scene ever between, Dennis Hopper and Chris Walkin.

American Psycho, Christian Bale.= Fresh script
Bugsy + first 3/4 of the movie were inspiring. (Won awards)
Thief =James Cann= Bad ass.
Vision Quest, coming of age movie, Madonna's young chunky cameo.
Fight Club = 6 Sense, on steroids. Plus clever script about life.= Fresh
Big Lebowski = Grows on you. After the 5th time seen. clever! We all know these guys, in real life.

Fast times at Ridgemont High= Unforgettable pool scene, and coming of age movie.

Original 80's Manhunter= laid the road down for the others to follow as if they invented the characters.

This thread could get way out of control, but in a good way!

Unforgiven- Another Clint western, incredible cinematography. The western that had to be made.
Dances With Wolves- Just about perfect in every aspect. Favorite quote:"Who is this white man? Why should we fear him, he is just a man, with a smart horse" or something to that effect!
Saving Private Ryan- Best war movie ever made. Rangers Lead The Way!
A Bridge Too Far- Second best war movie ever made.
To Kill A Mockingbird- Nothing need be said.
Love Actually- So, shoot me, I'm a sentimental fool and this is one of my fav holiday season movies.
Reservoir Dogs- I can't hear Stuck In The Middle With You without thinking of the ear scene.
Anything with Juliette Binoche or Renee Russo, I'd pay to watch them read the phone book.
Field Of Dreams- See comment above re sentimental fool.
Blood Diamond-Sleeper of my list, mainly because it made me realize Leo had grown up and could actually act.
Life As A House-See sentimental fool, again!
Casablanca- I never get tired of seeing this.
Bourne Trilogy-Wild, escapist fun.

There so many good movies. Maybe we should break them down, best story, best soundtrack/score, best cinematography, etc.

Some great ones KingRT! We finally showed Fast Times to our two teens, they thought it was hilarious! I love the end credits when they show Spicolli and subtitle that he blew his reward money hiring Van Halen to play at his birthday party. And Phoebe Cates, who knew?!

Hmmm, I though Serge would add "Caligula"

Me? I liked James Bond - Casino Royale! Think this IS the best Bond (after Sean Connery).

I am probably the only person who thought Timothy Dalton did a good job. I thought he brought an edge to Bond that was missing with Moore, Brosnan, Lazenby and to some extent Connery. That edge has been brought back by Craig.

Just saw the whole TRANSPORTER series in BD (1, 2 & 3) staring John Statham. Every piece action packed. The 3 I like most!

My only critique of Daniel Craig as Bond, as much as I understand the storyline of revenge in the last two films, they really need to get Bond back to his roots. That is the cleverly funny, non violent, lady killer. The Jason Bourne breakneck speed shot em up theme is getting stale. Too many films reflecting this mode lately.

Case in point, Nick Cage's Lionsgate Bangkok Dangerous arguably the worst film ever, for me. Once again, same idea.

Bond is all class, all the time.

I did not see Bangkok Dangerous but anything with Cage has to be up there in a list of worst movies. Not only do I think he is the worst actor who has ever made more than a couple of movies, his Wickerman that I watched during a long flight has my vote for Worst Acting in the Worst Movie of All Time.

City of God - great foreign film.
Chariots of Fire - probably my favorite sports movie, that doesn't get any appreciation as a sports movie
GoodFellas - Has there been a better use of Layla?

So many to list, I suck at describing movies...
