Just saying, need to be sure the BHK is broken in before any critical comparisons.
Thanks
Kaarmstrong, can you detect any difference in the sound of your system with the JL CR1 in the signal path?

Jrsystems, I have not been able to detect difference. If there is a difference it is small and having the ability to properly blend the subwoofers far out weighted any difference in my system. I can tell you at one point I was using the digital DAC, crossover and preamp in a Classe CP-800, so all crossover function done in the digital relm. Then I changed by using the CP 800 as DAC/preamp only to send full range analog to the JL CR-1 to take over the crossover responsibilities and it was an improvement, which tells me it is very neutral in respect to the signal path.

Thanks for the reply. Interesting. I think I’ll keep my amps and leave the CR1 and a second f113 on the top of my wish list.

Has everyone done their Red Cloud update yet? What about the Bridge II MQA update? Any impressions? I am very pleased with the additional clarity and low end definition from Red Cloud.

RedCloud sounds BLOODY AMAZING.

I thought Yale was good and Huron - well was more detailed but I always found it a little lean.

RedCloud fixed that. Detail and a beautiful richness.

But there is a bug with high output DSD files and Roon. No issue with JRiver/Audirvana.

Love red cloud too. I agree with everything stated. I think there is a lower mid improvement. When I listened to Huron before the cutover I was a bit hesitant because I didn't think I was wanting for anything else. I was surprised. In Ted we Trust!!

I've had the DirectStream for a number of years and Red Cloud is the best firmware update so far. The hard edge digital shrill is no longer present especially on poorer recordings, yet detail is abundant.
