Getting close now. I have a silver armboard and the VTALifter 2 ordered. Those will ship from Germany by the end of September hopefully. I also ordered a custom acrylic dustcover from Stereo Squares this week. That has a four week lead time.

So hopefully by this time next month, I'll have some more detailed photos to show of the fully assembled rig.

Default Spirit of 75

Spirit of 75 with the Dennesen Air Bearing Linear Tracking Tonearm

Not much of a turntable itself compared to the big name brand turntables here but an opportunity nonetheless to pay tribute to Alan Sliski's creation. A significant Inventor / Physicist who holds several patents among them a linear tracking system for record players.

What a gorgeous looking table -- and wow, it is huge. What are the dimensions? Makes the 12 inch LP look like a 7 inch 45.

Is that another turntable on the coffee table? And a few pair of speakers up front?

Thanks for the praises !

I wanted the deck to be in a way universal to accomodate various tonearm lengths. It also has an armboard / armmount arrangement that can swing to adjust to different mounting distances. It was something I thought would nice to fool around with.

Here is a 12 inch tonearm mounted. A 12 inch odyssey by John Gordon.

Michael,

Thanks !

It is a project clamp. I also have the one made by Thorens and I've also tried the one made by Kuzma ( more of an excellent tuning device than a record clamp ) but this one sounds great with my vintage decks.

Yeah, but embarassingly they were intentionally hidden from the camera as the room is filled with clutter. Not a good model to emulate. Have accumulated some old gears which i still use and function secondarily as diffusers. ( eg. Garrard 301/401, Lenco. Some Rogers, Spendor, Harbeth and Proac speakers )

Dan,

The Sax actually belongs to my son. My Daughter plays the piano. We keep most of the musical instruments ( guitar, sax and piano ) and the rest of my gears in what we call our music room. I see it as an advantage as I can compare how the system sounds compared to the real thing.

Cheers!
