The SGC company makes a USB to coax converter for $500. That was part of the 4 box chain I mentioned in my earlier post. I just don’t like the idea of multiple boxes to provide the equivalent of the MS750 functionality. The Vault 2i seems to be the best all in one solution for the price. I think I’m going to go that way to replace my dead MS.

I think you are on the right track after looking back over your original post. The Vault 2i has served me well over the years and when you consider the $ it's a fantastic option. The only downside that I've experienced is the lower SQ when compared to streamers 2X-3X the cost of the Vault. Yes, it punches above it's weight class.
I've experimented with different connections (Analog RCA, Coaxial RCA,TOSLINK digital optical to Oppo205 and C2700 DA2) and I came away preferring the SGC setup. I did a side-by-side comparison against the Lumin D2, T2 (once again more $$) and typically the soundstage got smaller, less defined transients, more noise but it was not a night and day difference. The Bluesound product is a fine product and checks a lot of your boxes. I would be curious to find out what you think once you have it hooked up to your MDA1000. Good luck and enjoy.

I know I am not typical, but I have a 750 that still works fine having had its PS rebuilt. Maybe have to reboot it once every couple of weeks as I use i-radio 99% of the time and Comcast's Internet service burps from time to time. I also have a 300 sitting in a drawer for that rainy day, but have not needed it for years now. And no one complains about the sound from these things.............

I bought my 750 new and before I used it for more than a few hours I installed the pico power supply bypass discussed in the ms300 thread. I figured it would preclude typical power supply issues, but my 750 still bit the dust. If I knew how to fix it, I would.

Did you try to put the original power supply back and see if the MS750 will work? It is possible the PICO PS is bad.

I need to do a little troubleshooting before I give up on it, l guess. I’ll take a look over the weekend and see what I find.
