Primers are reported to be the key constraint. Especially for you reloaders. The ammo makers will aim any primer inventory towards their own ammo sales, especially at today’s prices.

Exactly the same position I’m taking. Price gouging ensues. I’m glad I “horded” all these years which was actually simply picking up a few rounds here and there when on sale, LEAVING PLENTY for anyone else every time. No more plinking with a few hundred rounds on a Saturday though. Dammit.

It's hard to decide which has been a better investment for me right now...crypto or ammo...lol.

Unfortunately, likely both. Even for those of us who reload the cost of components is ridiculous and scarce (except for primers, which are non-existent). Lots of gouging going on. Hopefully, we consumers will have long memories per the gougers. Target quality 22LR ammo is probably the worst of loaded ammo.

The hoarders are definitely a problem. Fortunately, am friends with a few so can generally purchase selective amounts of primers at reasonable prices. The problem with primers is they are made by the same folks who make fixed (loaded) ammo and are being used in their own production with little left for us reloaders. I'm good this season and next (I hope), but will be 'out of business' for 2023 if supplies don't open up. Ah, well........ just have to head over to Scotland and watch the Walker Cup. Could be worse.

I'm down to 1000 rounds for my AR so no more range time for me until ammo is available at a reasonable price again.

I am well stocked with the small number of calibers I need which are .22LR, .45ACP, 5.56 NATO, & 7.62X51.

I reduced the number of calibers I need some years ago and rely on those four exclusively.

Ditto; I literally have more than a lifetime of ammo, in all calibers.

I might have to re-check my inventory on .45ACP because this thing will go through it pretty fast.

Indeed.........
Craig - your comment made me wonder how much lead I put down range each season (non-pandemic). Based on my 'back of the envelope' calculation I put 450-500# of lead down-range in a typical year. At this weekend's match I'll toss about 5# of lead towards the targets (200, 300, 385 & 500 meters). Here's a picture of 80 of the 400gr bullets I cast this week. I'm behind in same and need to cast another 750 to be caught up for the season. 250# of lead "weighting" its run in the bullet molds.
