Default A Small Slice of Vintage...

I was perusing some local CL listings tonight and a group of vintage audio items kept popping up in the same section of the city and the same address. From Fisher, to Sansui, Teac, reel to reels, tuners, amplifiers and TT's; this small store seems to be a small slice of vintage heaven!

Gonna go check them out this weekend.

I really really had a hard time keeping my hands in my pockets, I can tell you that much. I was going to take some notes and what I ended up doing was gawking and drooling.

But I will be going back as they indicated they do quite a bit of buying and selling. He is making a deal for what has been described as a mint MC-2205 Mcintosh amp.

I saw 8 tuners, 11 TT's, some early CD players, single and dual well cassette units, 7 reel to reel units, oodles (that means a bunch) of speakers, quite a few amps and even some receiver/TT combo units.

The vintage varied from what appeared to be some early 70's receivers to some mid to late 90's components.

Ah, to bad they didn't have more from the 60's. My last find was a pair of Electro Voice 12trxb's for $10 at a yard sale. Hmmm, interesting idea for a new thread. I like treasure hunting.

Maybe he wasn't serious about selling out. He advertised get them all for $2,000 but if you want individual units you pay retail.

He would NOT budge on any of his listed retail prices, which are more opportunity pricing than real selling prices. I came THIS CLOSE to asking him why post up an ad like that when he had no real intent to sell individual pieces and make some money.

Troll...

That does sound a little crazy unless he just wanted out of the business.
