Default "Intouchables"

A french movie is having a huge commercial success these days.
"Intouchables".

It is based on the true story of a very rich handicapped man, paralized of all the body except his head, who meets and hire a young poor and almost bad guy from the suburbs.
It is a great movie.
The main role of a movie is to make you escape from everything else.
Not for a single minute, you should think of the real life.
This is the power of the 7 th Art and it is exclusive to this Art.
No doubt that this movie gets to that point.
During 2 hours, I escaped into it. And I'm a tough one when it comes to make me escape from the reality.
If you have it playing around ( in NYC and major "cultural" cities, you'll be ok ) you should go to see it or, wait for the DVD, or wait for the "american" version : no doubt that the rights will be bought by a Major in the next weeks. I personaly always prefered the french original version to the american copy, but that's maybe because I'm french .
I'm proud of the french movies Industry.
It does not make blockbusters like the US one do.
But it makes GREAT movies.

Jérôme
I have seen many French (and other foreign) films over the years and do enjoy them quite a bit. I will look for this one.

Did you get to see "Des hommes et des dieux" this past year? A very good movie.

Some of the French comedies have been too funny. "Hors de prix" , "La doublure", "Les compères"

Wow Jim ! I'm impressed !
No, I did not see " Des Dieux et des hommes". I did not have the courage.
My mother's family suffered from violence in Algeria.
