-- James, just a simple remark:

* BDA-2 = Bryston DAC 2.
* BDP-2 = Bryston Digital Player 2. ...But it's a Media Player.

Am I right? ...Because BDP-2 sounds like Blu-ray Disc Player-2 to me.

> Oppo and Sony Blu-ray players all start by BDP-.

See, just a simple notice.

Hi

Yes I agree the name of Digital Player vs Media Player is a bit confusing but given the 'specialty' of the BDP I wanted to make sure people did not see the BDP as a more universal Media Player.

A quick question about input cables. I have a 30 foot run between my macbook pro and my pre-amp, with the Bryston BDa-2 soon to be in between. What cable combination/length should I use? I did want to use the USB inputs. Do I need to use the Toslink?

A question for Bryston technical staff: more simply put does the use of USB extenders affect the sound quality of the BDA-2? If so what is the longest USB cable Bryston suggests that can reasonably be used.

Dear James,
I do own BDP-1 for over a year or so, is there anyway I can get BDP-1 to be upgraded to BDP-2 so I can play music from NAS ?
Any update on the user interface and the Ipad remote app so it will show music with Chinese title ?
Thanks.

I can't really say about the Chinese font issue as we do not have any music with Chinese fonts; however if you want to playback audio files on a NAS your bdp-1 doesn't require hardware upgrade but simply a software update.

I have to second this. I loved the BDP-1 quality, but there just isn't a friendly interface for operating it. And for as long as its been out, there doesn't seem to be any advances in the user interface. Are there any plans for improvements in this category?

Also, what bug fixes, enhancements, etc. are in the 1.6 firmware update? I haven't loaded the firmware you sent me yet.

Thanks.

Hi

With programs like MPAD and MPOD already existing we feel they are still the best choices to use with the BDP's.

We are continuing to work on our own web-based interface - MAX2 but dedicated Linux Apps like MPAD and MPOD work faster and better generally.

Welcome to AA Grit!

I have found MPAD works well for me too. Some of the cover art dosen't display but I am still playing around with that.
