Default Apparently, Strads come in Original Red Violin and New RED????

I just found this out today.... there are 2 reds??

Which would you prefer? I have not seen the new Red Strads but I have seen the Futuras in Red and although I thought it was a little dark, it does have a heavier grain to them.

Original Red Violin

New Red

I have found that original red top pair for sale, the exact pair. I have also found a pair of the new Red (bottom) for sale...

... this is thanks to another forum member. And it seems very legit without a ding too.

LOL...

Joey...here's something to think about as you contemplate your potential purchase...
The original red coloring, which i understand from Sonus faber literature, was formulated from an authentic color recipe by Antonio Stradivari himself. Perhaps that will make these a bit more valuable (collectable) in the future.

I do like the new red, very much and would be very happy to have a pair, if I didn't already have them.

Joey,

They are Strads. Either red is great, the Strad lineage would be cool but If all else was equal and I could choose, I like the second red.

But, for me, I would worky room around the color of the Strads.

Joey.......I like the deep red. That color could quite easily blend with nearly any room décor.

Get 'em ordered.

From my research on the web, the old finish is called Red Violin. The new Red (darker shade) is the same kind of red across the line (Aida, Lilium, Futura, Evolution, Strad, Vox).

You really can't go wrong with either one. They are both beautiful!

I personally like the "New Red" better but this is going to come down to personal preferance. I have Always preferred a darker color / shade of speaker.

I did not know that.... it does remind me a little about the actual violin Strads.

The forum member contacted me and both are for sale. Both about a little over a year old. The lower/newer RED is 2.5K more.

+1. The older color is much more unique. I can see the newer one being easier to mate other furniture with, but if I had the older ones I would make them the King of the room and match other items to THEM.
