The 2245 is also a favorite of mine. I just had one come through here and it was sweet.

4270 gets high WAF!
I recently decided to get a system for our spare bedroom that I use as an office/man cave. I was planning to get a nice little Exposure 2010S2/KEF Q300 set up through work but some peeking at Craigslist changed all that.
I came across a pair of ESS HD310s for very little which probably aren't much cop but frankly the size and look of them just said 'why not' to me ;-) That was enough to convince me to search out a suitably 'mature' amp/receiver and after much trawling of CL and a day trailing round a few Bay area stores selling used stuff I came home with a 4270 Quad receiver in it's wood case. I paid $400 which was more than the $200 I had in mind after seeing stuff on CL around that mark but I loved the look and it had been serviced recently so hopefully it wasn't money down the drain. Luckily the wife loved the look of it and now I only get in trouble for leaving her too much of the time to listen to music in the Marantz man-cave! |

Latest addition to the family
So the vintage bug must have bitten me hard as the 4270 just seemed to be calling out for a nice turntable to partner it. A totally impractical urge given that I sold the last of my vinyl before moving from the UK, but these things are rarely driven by common sense ;-)
So when I saw a nice looking Marantz 6100 listed on Craigslist it was kismet. I quick diversion to Oakland on the way home on Monday netted me the unit and then I had to face the wife. Buying a nice amp and speakers was one thing - after all I currently have 3000+ albums on my server and Squeezeboxes dotted around the apartment . . but a turntable . . I needn't have worried, aside from it's winning looks it also proved reason enough to dig out here Duran Duran 12" singles from a packing box and all was well. |

Hello,
I just got é JBL L 36 and a Marantz 2275 because it was my teenager's dream. Unfortunately, I was too quick to pick the marantz; I have a trouble: left channel seems to have no bass (I inverted speakers and so on...).What kind of problem can it be? Is it easy to find a solution? Help please. Jean-Marc. |

Ok, everything is well, and the sound is DELICIOUS, like Alberto says; I have to say that back in the day it was very serious stuff. JBL L36 is really a fantastic speaker, and the 2275 Marantz Receiver makes them sing.
