Thanks. I didn't realize how new these XC cables were. I managed to track them down. Expected delivery about 4-6 weeks though.

The cables between the wall outlet and the conditioner are very important. The new Sigma XC would be a very significant upgrade for the Denali, Tv3 and the Typhon.

If it is in the budget, the Omega QR for the mono-blocks is quite simply a revelation. PumaCat and SCAudiophile have a lot of experience with the new cables. So, hopefully one of them can give you some first hand knowledge.
Hi Caelin.

Until the Everest shelf model is released, I presently am running a Typhon from the wall outlet using a Sigma v1. The Typhon is connected to my Denali v2 using the umbilical which it came with.

To my ears in my system, the Denali v2 sounds better in conjunction with the Typhon than alone without the Typhon.

Questions:

1.I am considering ordering an Omega XC from the wall outlet to the Typhon with the intention of eventually getting a Everest Shelf model when available. Does that seem appropriate?

2. You previously stated that the umbilical between the Typhon and PD can be upgraded with any of the new Cable line and that the it would sound better than the original umbilical supplied with the Typhon. Would the new Sigma XC be appropriate there, considering I’m going to wait for the shelf Everest model?

3.I’m guessing that since I will eventually get the Everest shelf PD when available, it would be best to get the Omega XC rather than the new Sigma XC running from the wall outlet. Perhaps the Typhon would then become redundant and not necessary at that point?

Your input and thoughts would be appreciated to get the best sound, but not do an overkill.

First and foremost, we have not announced nor even hinted at a shelf version of an Everest. So would not do anything based on those assumptions.

Best advice I can give is to wait for the Everest and use it with the cables you own and are familiar with. Then try the Everest with and without the Typhon.

After that, then you can consider upgrading cables to the newer version once you have that all sorted. Take your time. This stuff is expensive. There is no hurry. Savor the journey my friend.

I’ve searched here and elsewhere for reviews/information on the Omega QR-s power cable to no avail. At present my D’Agostino Momemtum HD preamp is plugged directly into a dedicated 20 amp circuit via a Stealth Dream V18 power cable - sounds great, but I’m still interested in others’ experience with the QR-s if I can find any.

Thanks,

Mitch

I am not sure you will find specific reviews in print or in forums yet on the QR-s and all of us that I've seen either have experience with the QR or XC. There a couple of fantastic reviews in print on the Omega with Everest as well.

Thanks—unfortunately, the way my system sits, an Everest won’t fit, unless I put it in back of the rack. I did the next best thing, though, and bought an Omega XC for the Denali and will soon have it isolated to providing power to just the dCS stack.
