hearing aids
Has anyone of the Audioaficionado members used or use Miracle Ear hearing aids. Seems like a good price for two ($995) Just wondering how good they are.
Thanks Ed

I don’t have personal experience with Miracle-Ear, but in a Consumer Reports survey of 17,000 members who use hearing aids, they ranked pretty low for overall value. The top rated brands were Costco/Kirkland, Widex, Oticon, Signia, Phonak, and ReSound. I use Oticon, but frankly, for me at least, a good audiologist who can advise and fit for you is much more important than brand as long as it’s one of the quality makers.

I tried the Sam's variety and hated them. Done a lot of digging into this and it seems if you can find older analog hearing aids they're supposed to be better for music listening. If you're not going to use them for music listening then the Costco brand is pretty good. At least according to my brother who's had them for some time now. I believe they're ReSound.
Had to do some digging through my old emails, but this audiologist (local to me) is one that I found who still offers analog hearing aids. Apparently that's becoming rare these days. http://www.kimjuneauhearing.com/welcome.html Hit the "Products" tab and scroll down a bit. Also check out the "Musicians Section." I should make an appointment and get a side by side comparision.

-+Thanks for the help. It's like trying to select a replacement for my current audio system.
