James.......Thanks for the link to the article. I can't say I am surprised.

I have a similar point of view with respect to PCM versus DSD as the industry promotes its latest darling. I can appreciate the comment, "The truth is bad for commerce."

I've met David (Ellington) a few times. He's a stand up guy, but this is all very interesting. Perhaps the same properties that effect our analog (speaker) cables don't apply to digital, or at least less so.

Now I'm off to read Bill's response.

Apparently Audioquest did not perform, authorize, or publish this test.

OTOH, he heard it a year before the brouhaha, didn't believe it, and did nothing about it.

If you want an honest test, you should buy the product off the shelf and test it.

Screw the manufacturer.

They don't have to know about or authorize the test.
