Having used T+T combo for almost 5 months as an upgrade over Vray, I placed them on a Pagode audio rack (each of them sitting on a different shelf while a 1mt ztron Anaconda cord connecting Typhon to Triton). The combo compared to Vray even right out of the box performed much better, more transparent, more dynamic and organic, providing more resolution while blacker background. So, not much surprising given the past years Shunyata improved its products while the combo had a much higher price tag over my old vray including a space need of two times the vray. So what makes this thread then?!
Last weekend I received the second SRA Scuttle (both 4 shelves each so total 8) rack so I decided to move T+T combo from Pagode to SRA. Now the story begins. I am not saying the sound was different, it was much better, so already good sounding system improved in every category providing a seamless much more effortless sound while tonal balance moved to more neutral. In order to be sure I took back Shunyatas to old Pagode rack, the magic gone. Again back to SRA and magic comes back. Now, I do realize the importance of vibration and acoustical treatment, as having SRA etc but never thought a passive line conditioner or similar gear would even have same sensitivity as a digital source or a turntable. That is crazy.
