+1...The BMs are a nice choice.

Yeah, but just out of curiosity, I will do a blind test. I will first start with one black mamba on the pre-amp and then swap it to the CD player and compare. It will be a bit time consuming but I like to know what effect does a change in cable do, rather than changing everything altogheter and no knowing individual changes.

I like my way better & saves time on the burn-in. Put everything you've got in, then pull them out one by one in sequence to the way you will re-introduce them back into the system. It's easier to hear a loss of quality than to assess a small gain, well, it is for me anyway.Keep on guessing,,,,

I believe you are right. I noticed that when I put to use new hardware, the difference is not that obvious but becomes really obvious when I revert back to the old one. This is particularly true with cables.

Knowing this, I just wonder where I should start. Recently, I ordered many parts but since I am out of the country nothing is plugged yet. When I will be back home, I will have a lot of fun re-assembling everything togheter haha.

I ordered:

1 Black Mamba-HC CX for MC252 (coming from standard power cord)
1 Black Mamba CX for MCD301 (coming from standard power cord)
1 Black Mamba CX for C46 (see below)
1 McIntosh C46 (coming from C712 - which has integrated power cord)
1 Kimber Kable KS 3033 for speakers (coming from Monocle XL)
1 Kimber Kable KS 1111 for MCD301 (Coming from KS 1011 RCA)
1 Blue Jeans Cable XLR for MC252 (coming from Blue Jeans Cables LC-1 RCA) - I needed 5 M long, but too rich for my blood... I know this will be the weakest link in my whole system for now.

So, you would plug everything and get your ears used to it, and then revert back to old hardware one by one? I believe the way to start is with the pre-amp but after that there is no specific order, right?

Serge, I don't think it makes a huge difference but i would start from the source & work down/out. You really are in for a treat aren't you One thing I think is worth mentioning is once things are well & truly settled/burnt in then try how I described again say after 500 hours.

Default Black Mamba HC CX

I recently swapped out a Synergistic Research A/C Master Coupler for a Black Mamba HC CX on my Audio research LS9 and noticed a dramatic improvement in dynamics, soundstaging and presence. I am currently using six Mamba HC CX's and think that they are an outstanding value.
