Bart, does the Origin sound like what an active version of MBL might have sounded?

While the Origin is an omni vs the direct radiator Grimm LS1be / dmf sub, how would you compare the sound from both, since both have been demonstrated at The Hague?

Thanks.

Thanks.

I've heard all the lines of MBL.
They are really omnidirectional.
Their Reference line is quite an experience.
But they all sound good.

Grimm is indeed quite direct, but still has a large sweet spot.
Cheapest solution of the three.
Consider them full range (LS1be).

Veddan is somewhere in between.
More directional than MBL.
They are sensitive to room placement, even with their DSP.
In Den Haag, we found them a bit boomy, and that disappeared after moving them in the room.
Very transparent.

I have to admit, I heard the Veddans with a Grimm MU1 and a Mola Mola DAC. Ben from Listening Matters says these speakers are so good they can bear top source and DAC.
That adds to the bill of course, but you can start from the speakers only and build your way up.

FWIW, YG has a full page ad out in the January '22 Stereophile announcing the Vantage Live system.

Have to admit it's one of the most intriguing systems I've seen in a while. It's simplistic form factor is extremely appealing to me.

Yes, and it's YG!
One of the best speaker companies in the world.

Bart, the YG speakers I have heard are truly special. I see this system as a game changer and perhaps the future of hi-end audio.

Will be interesting where YG Acoustics will be going after departure of Yoav Geva, it looks they are now looking outside the company for technical development.

Would like to hear the YG Acoustics Vantage Live with the internal Bel Canto Class D amps.
I have used a Class D amp on my Hailey's and that was not the greatest combination.

Did anyone make it to AXPONA 2022? I understand Vantage Live was on display there. Would love to hear some first-hand impressions.

I was at AXPONA and visited the room with the Vantage Live system a few times. I've owned YG Acoustic Carmel speakers for 10 years, and am a big fan of the company's early works (getting a personalized tour of the factory from Yoav Geva when I was in Denver on business in 2013 certainly didn't hurt).

I thought the sound was balanced top to bottom, and had the solid YG harmonics. Imaging, soundstage and dynamics were solid, even in the hotel room.

I was highly impressed.

Alternatively, part of the intrigue of the hobby (to me) is assembling a system with all the various components, including cabling. The Vantage Live takes that out of the equation.

If someone wants a killer system in the $50k range that is essentially plug and play...and I do mean a killer system...they should give it a listen.
