I guess until we are faced with clear evidence that says otherwise, the bulk of the scientific community will keep on heading in that same direction. It may very well be trying to fit a square peg into a round hole but one has to admire their perseverance. It is a good thing that we as a society do allow certain freedoms now to be able to explore alternate theories and allow for the possibility of extra-terrestrial life being out there. We may not be a lucky coincidence of life being sparked ON by some inorganic compounds forming into simple organic compounds and then through some incredible magic, forming complex life that evolves and keeps evolving... At some point, even science may have to admit that the proof and the actual story of our creation has already been told but we simply refused to accept it. Oh well, we are a stubborn creation to say the least. |

From a NASA article: " NASA's new plans include returning to the moon -- not just with robots, but with people too. In the decades ahead we can expect to see habitats, greenhouses and power stations up there. Astronauts will be out among the moondust and craters, exploring, prospecting and building. Jan. 20, 2005, though, there were no humans walking around on the moon. And it's a good thing. On that day, a giant sunspot named "NOAA 720" exploded. The blast sparked an X-class solar flare, the most powerful kind, and hurled a billion-ton cloud of electrified gas (a coronal mass ejection, or CME) into space. Solar protons accelerated to nearly light speed by the explosion reached the Earth-moon system minutes after the flare; it was the beginning of a days-long "proton storm." Proton storms cause all kinds of problems. They interfere with ham radio communications. They zap satellites, causing short circuits and computer reboots. Worst of all, they can penetrate the skin of space suits and make astronauts feel sick. January 2005 was a stormy month in space. With little warning, a giant spot materialized on the sun and started exploding. From Jan. 15 through Jan. 19, sunspot 720 produced four powerful solar flares. When it exploded a fifth time on Jan. 20, onlookers were not surprised. The sun-lit side of the moon is totally exposed to solar flares. It has no atmosphere or magnetic field to deflect radiation. Protons rushing at the moon simply hit the ground or whoever might be walking around outside. An astronaut on the moon, caught outdoors on Jan. 20, would have had almost no time to dash for shelter, and would have become sick. At first, he'd feel fine, but a few days later, symptoms of radiation sickness would appear: vomiting, fatigue, low blood counts. These symptoms might persist for days. |

Project A119, also known as A Study of Lunar Research Flights, was a top-secret plan developed in 1958 by the United States Air Force. The aim of the project was to detonate a nuclear bomb on the Moon, which would help in answering some of the mysteries in planetary astronomy and astrogeology.
If the explosive device detonated on the surface, not in a lunar crater, the flash of explosive light would have been faintly visible to people on Earth with their naked eye, a show of force resulting in a possible boosting of domestic morale in the capabilities of the United States, a boost that was needed after the Soviet Union took an early lead in the Space Race and was also working on a similar project. The project was never carried out, being cancelled primarily out of a fear of a negative public reaction, with the potential militarization of space that it would also have signified, and because a Moon landing would undoubtedly be a more popular achievement in the eyes of the American and international public alike. A similar project by the Soviet Union also never came to fruition. The existence of the US project was revealed in 2000 by a former executive at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Leonard Reiffel, who led the project in 1958. A young Carl Sagan was part of the team responsible for predicting the effects of a nuclear explosion in vacuum and low gravity and in evaluating the scientific value of the project. The project documents remained secret for nearly 45 years, and despite Reiffel's revelations, the United States government has never officially recognized its involvement in the study. |

So there always were and still are some mysteries about the Moon in general. NASA was well aware of the tough questions that had no logical explanations and some remain unanswered to this very day. Some facts about the Moon are just bizarre and coincidences that are hard to believe.

The radiation factor definitely needs to be solved before we can get a whole lot further down the road of manned space travel.
On the other front of UFO's, how about the mass sightings in Arizona back in the '90's. Amazon has a bunch of interesting documentaries on UFO's. No doubt in my mind they exist, because I saw one.

I will never fully understand the memory of a dim, endless room and an entity in all white standing in front of me. I was scared but unharmed and I remember feeling dizzy and confused as my grandmother called on me to go inside and eat dinner when I just came out to play after eating my lunch... I had seen a few others since then. I don't believe they are here to cause us harm but I do believe they play a much bigger role than we can ever imagine in our past, present and future... |

I worked in radiology for over a decade as an MRI tech. MRI scanners are extremely sensitive to any metal as it disturbs the magnetic field and causes artifacts on diagnostic images we would acquire. I have personally came across quite a few cases of unexplained metal foreign objects in patients that had no idea what or how they would be there. No previous surgery, no trauma.
The bizarre thing is that typically a foreign body lodged in human flesh would leave a track mark easily visible on MRI in the form of a scar tissue. It is as if these patients were either born with them or they were implanted by some very unconventional means. There are a few "people" tracking these cases... Some have been documented and researched and let's just say we are not familiar with the types of alloys that were surgically extracted. |
