Well, should I upgrade from the Perfectwave DAC II to the Directstream or keep the Perfectwave DAC II and upgrade my transport from a NAD 565bee CD player to a PS Audio PerfectWave Transport? I just upgraded my preamp and this will be my last upgrade for a long time. Your suggestions are appreciated!

I need to borrow a DS DAC and hook it up to my Silenzio. Let's just say I'm very curious.

I just received my DirectStream DAC and right out of the box it sounds better than the PerfectWave DAC II. Unfortunately, I'm hearing a popping sound. I'm using a 1/2 meter Wireworld Gold Starlight Coaxial cable. It's my understanding that the popping sound is static, which is caused by a poor match between the cable and DirectStream DAC. I'm using a NAD 565bee as a transport and don't want to change it right now, but would love some suggestions on how to resolve my problem. I've already talked to PS Audio and they told me to run a test. I ran the test and it didn't indicate an error.

Best practice is to turn it off in the back. Unplug your power cord and wait 2 or 3 minutes, then fire it back up.

Thanks. I will reboot it tomorrow morning. It has about 3 hours on it and the popping appears to be gone
