Question: What is the difference between Venom NR V10 and Venom HC V2? Are they different generations? They have a difference in filtering? Other differences?

I have a venom HC V1 (I suppose since no V2 Is visible on the cablesleeve). It has no filtering, correct?
If I run it into a Venom EU7 should you have filtering NR/V2HC or no filtering XC?

The Venom HC V2 is the latest gen 10-gauge high-current Venom power cord using the latest cable geometry, materials, and construction. It is has excellent performance and audio quality for its US Price of $298. I've used this power cord for 2 months with a world-class preamp and I was very impressed with it. It does not have the 12 dB noise filtering functionality that the Venom NR-V10 has. The other application where this power cord would be killer would be for powering a sub-woofer.

I am not familiar with the Venom EU7, but if it is a power distributor comparable to the Venom PS8, it does not have built-in noise reduction. So, you could add a Venom Defender with it, or power it with a Venom NR-V10 or Delta NR v2 to provide some noise reduction capability, if desired.

The Venom EU7 version have CCI filter (v3) built-in.

Thanks, that makes it abit clearer. I guess I was also a bit confused with Venom HC V2 and the Venom XC version.

If you're going to power a power distributor, my guess is the Venom XC would be superior to the Venom HC V2. The XC series were specifically designed for power conditioners.

This is actually my exact setup ... along with a Defender and a couple Venom 14 Digital cables as well (I no longer see the V14's on the site though).

If I may humbly add to your reply, Puma Cat:
I recently replaced my Venom HC V1's with Venom NR-V10's on my REL S5 subs. There was no contest. The NR's made my subs much more detailed and faster. I've no experience with the HC V2's, but my sense is that they are much improved over my V1's, but not as good as the NR-V10's.

I also have a loom of Viper E-Trons running all of my components that I've compared both the Delta NR (v1) and the Venom NR-V10's to. Again, the Venoms are far better on every component vs. the Vipers. The Delta was REALLY good in comparison to the Vipers, and better than the NR-V10's but not in the budget right now.

That said, I will be replacing all of my Viper Etrons with NR-V10's and saving up for a Delta NR to plug into my Denali V1 over time. They simply improve everything that I've plugged them into.

Hi Rj,
I would agree, the NR-V10s are better than the Venom HC V2s, they are quieter and use different wire and a different construction. If one has the budget, using NR-V10s would be the first choice. Given that, thought, not all folks have the budget to put Venom NRs or Delta NRs on all components, and my suggestion of where a Venom HC V2 would be put to good use would be a sub. They would also be very good for powering a power distributor, e.g. Venom PS 8 where you also have a Venom Defender for noise reduction.

Agreed, that is consistent with my experiences comparing my Black Mamba and Cobra Zitron to the Venom NR-V10s. And Delta NR v2 is notably better than Venom NR-V10.

As for your Denali V1, if you were refering to saving up for a Delta NR v2 to use as the power cord to power your Denali from the wall, also consider the new Delta XC.

Cheers.

Agreed on all counts! I'll definitely look into the XC when the time is right. Thanks!

Keep the the Venom PS8. It is a great power distributor and when used in conjunction with NR power cords will give you about 30-40 dB in noise reduction. Get the power cords and then determine if you are happy with the result. After that, if you still want more, consider getting a Delta D6 power conditioner. But I think you will be quite happy the improvement that the V10s provide.
i am interested in getting Venom NR V10 for my power amp. Is this Venom NRV10 filter circuit based on passive filter or active filter? Will the Noise Reduction (NR) performance deteriorate after few years of usage? i want to purchase something that i can enjoy for many many years...thanks & cheers....
