Concerning class A and class AB, I currently have a Luxman 550AX with Harbeth C7ES3's. I owned a class AN Luxman 505ux before the 550ax. I do remember that the 505ux was much more dynamic sounding than the 550ax and I kind of wished I would have kept the it instead of "upgrading" to the class A.

I am not sure how that translates to the Accuphase line. My initial thought is that I would probably like the E-480 better than the E-650 or E800 but I haven't heard an Accuphase. Also, I do have to keep costs in mind.

I am also a bit worried that the class A Accuphase models might not be able to drive the TAD speakers as they are somewhat inefficient. Again, I could be totally wrong about this.

I would appreciate anyone's input---particularly the folks that may have an Accuphase/TAD setup.

I like all kinds of music, from classical to jazz, some RAP, alternative, pop, rock...essentially everything except country.

Looking forward to your replies.

Dave
My dealer keep on pestering me to upgrade my current speaker to TAD-E1TX-K. He told me it's a perfect match with my E800.

So you should be fine with the speaker upgrade.

There's actually a YouTube on the E800 powering the TAD-E1TX-K below

You can checked it out.

This is really good to know Jeremy. Let me know if you ever get around to the upgrade. I will likely pull the trigger sometime next year. Thanks for sharing the vid.

Want to get feedback of E480, am picking a pair of Amati's and my dealer can offer me either Classe Mono Delta or E480. Difference in Prices in Indian market for a E480 vs Classe Delta pair is only about 25%.

I have read some great reviews about Accuphase but am not sure if these will be enough for Amati's. What will be the suggestions?

I've got Accuphase on my radar for my next integrated. Looking at the E-480 and E-650. Just wondering if the meter lights on both these models can be turned off while the unit is in operation (like Luxman and McIntosh). Thanks!

I picked E480 here in India last week and am super happy with the quality of sound. Are there any fellow owners here or person with knowledge who can answer my queries? I tried using webform at Accuphase but was not successful. There's no Mail ID available at the web and the only way to contact is by filling some form and the link does not work.

1- ECO/ auto standby mode. We have 230 v but it seems this mode is not working as my amplifier stays on. Any way to check this? Tried powering ON while keeping Mono pressed (cue from E470 thread)

2- DAC50- I am able to use USB input and run my Roon streamer but I don’t get any output when I use optical input from my TV.

3- DAC50- during playback from my Roon server, connected via USB, I hear 2 clicks, at end and start of a new song. As if some input signal is switching on and off a small relay. Is this normal? I don’t have this problem on any other devises running on the same room server.

2 - did you switch to the optical input on the DAC50? You have to push the DAC button several times. Should not be a problem locking to a TV optical signal.

3 - you hear the sample rate switching to the right rate - the clocks are normal. Not a on continuous play until sample rate switches from one song to another.
