No worries...they have always taken care of business once and done.

The veracity of the Esoteric support is likely to be market dependent. I suspect where I am, and what I own, would be problematic to get fixed if it was to break down.

Indeed, particularly since lifting that thing 3 feet from the rack is already an exercise, and I can't imagine having to bring it to and from somewhere remote, or having to ship it off.

I am having the same problem on the K-03, out of the blue the Tray is now not even opening at all. Just keeps saying Tray Error. How did you access the belts, was it by removing the top plate or the bottom plate. Do you have any instructions on how to replace the belts? Where can I buy the belts online? Thanks in advance.

Any chance your K-03 is still under warranty? If so, doing any work yourself may void same if you don't fix the problem(s).

Ultimately replaced two belt/o-rings, one being the one near the front of the transport that moves the disc up and down. The other is unexpectedly quite hidden. It is accessed by removing the very heavy bottom cover, the control board that sits in the middle (and removing a good number of wires attached to it), then another metal cover under it. Then, the motor and the little belt that in turn drives the long ridged belt visible from the top side can be seen and accessed. After replacing these two little belts, it works again!
Costed me a reasonable approx. US$90, about 65 for the visit and the remainder for parts.
I'm happy again.
That is a good result.(Esoteric UX1 Limited) My draw has just started sticking.15 year old and built to handle SACD and DVD-A .Apart from the belt/o-rings I would like it reconditioned as new to give me another 15 years.

I have the same problem with my K-03 tray which is odd because I rarely play CD's.
No such luck on getting field service here. Unfortunately I would have to ship the 80lb unit to the North American service center in CA for repair/estimate.
I've been debating on cracking it open and having a look myself but I'm told Esoteric will not sell parts to the public.

I will say if you have to send it to the service center in CA they do excellent work and were fast ... at least when I had to have a unit serviced a couple of years back
