Don't know but shoot SR an email. My guess is painting them would not alter their performance.

Steve.......I just emailed Synergistic Research to ask if the HFT can be painted the same color as a wall, or spray painted black or white without altering its performance. I'll post the response.

Steve.......Here is the response from Synergistic Research about painting the HFT. That was a quick response, especially considering the hour.

Dan so long as you only paint the outside portion and not the inner horn you should have no issue. What many people are doing is drilling a counter sink hole and inserting the HFT in the hole flush with the wall. This is the stealth install option.

See pic for the inside horn section of the HFT. You do not want to plug the inner hole / screen nor do you want to alter the shape of the inner horn which acts as an acoustic amplifier for the inner transducer.
